This past weekend I spent three nights in the amazing country of Ireland!! Here’s a play by play of my itinerary:
- Landed in Dublin around 12:30 pm and didn’t make it to the hostel until 1 am and almost went to the wrong hostel but figured it out because we are a group of young adults who can figure out anything if we put our minds to it (we just opened the wrong e-mail.)
- Woke up on Friday and had a walking tour of Dublin as well as a tour of the Guinness factory. Here we learned how to pour a Guinness and did you know it takes 2 minutes to pour the “perfect Guinness”???? Apparently it does. I also bought a funny T-Shirt that says “merry Guinness” so yes you could say I struck gold at the gift shop
- Friday night we met up with some friends for dinner at a pub that was played live music and had Irish dancers! It was so cool and cultural we are so #worldly
- Saturday we dragged ourselves out of bed at SIX OCLOCK IN THE MORNING to get on a bus to Galway. 3 hours later we ended up at the Cliffs of Moher where I panicked for two hours because it was really slippery and it was a 700 foot drop and my socks inside my boots got wet. Great photo op though.
- When we left the cliffs we made it back to Galway and OH MY GOD my favorite part. Galway is this tiny little mini city town village thing and it’s so quaint and on the water and the buildings are colorful and I bought an Aran sweater and claddagh and it was amazing
- Then we came home and did a pub crawl with our tour guide to experience the night life of Dublin and saw MORE live music (Ireland loves their music)
- Now I’m currently at the airport writing this sulking that I’m leaving the coolest/probably my most favorite country I’ve ever been to
And that’s the outline of my trip. There’s some other funny things I could throw in like how we met a lot of people from Australia who told us that all they know about America is “baseball and hot dogs and Lebron James”. I definitely see myself coming back to Ireland, quite possibly my favorite trip I’ve been on so far.
But back to the real world now! And by that I mean back to Rome ;-). Until Thursday then I venture to SWITZERLAND. Could potentially tie as favorite trip… Those views man.
Talk soon 🙂
