Here’s how to nail the perfect Instagram theme and how to edit your photos like a pro without Photoshop.
Finding and maintaining the perfect theme for your page is a lot harder than you might think. Themes dictate your personality and how you want your Instagram feed to be perceived. These do’s and don’ts create a surefire guide to insta-gold.
Do: Develop a routine. When editing your photos, use the same filters/tools every time. This will ensure a cohesive color family and mood.
Don’t: Post just for the sake of posting. Your Instagram feed should take time and build slowly. You can’t rush art!
Here is what my Instagram theme currently looks like:
Do: Your theme can and will occasionally change depending on the time of year! Sometimes my feed will appear brighter or more colorful during the summer months, or darker and more contrasted during the winter season.
Don’t: Over edit – less is more. Remember, too much isn’t always good and could lessen the quality.
Emphasizing the whites of a photograph can create an entirely different look.
Do: Use apps to edit your photos such as VSCO, Facetune, and Instagram. Test out different filters to fit your personality. Note: The filter that I use is A6 in VSCO.
Don’t: Add two filters on top of each other. This will show up grainy, over-saturated, and down-right low quality.
Bonus Tip – Acquire a signature look. I like grey tones, but perhaps you like reds in your theme. Either way, make your feed yours by adding your own special touch.
And there you have it – do this over and over and over and over again and you will eventually build a routine and a killer theme! #goals
